CODY, Wyo. — On Friday, the Cody Police Department announced an investigation into the death of two Cody residents that occurred in the Valley View subdivision.

The CPD has updated the story, identifying the two deceased residents as husband and wife Gary Finnicum, 63, and Danielle Finnicum, 52.

“The investigation has determined that both individuals died as a result of gunshot wounds,” a social media post from the CPD states. “Based on the evidence gathered thus far, investigators do not believe there is any outstanding threat to the community, nor are they seeking any suspect in connection with this incident at this time.”

In coordination with the Park County Coroner’s Office, autopsies are scheduled to be completed on Monday, June 15.

The investigation remains active as detectives continue to process evidence and wait for the results of forensic examinations.

“The Cody Police Department extends its sincere condolences to the Finnicum family and their loved ones during this difficult time,” the post states.
